Confused about the new legislation?  Scared, even? Why wouldn’t you be – there are 90 different changes to NSW strata laws, plus all the regulations on top of that, ranging from collective (read ‘forced’) sales of units to by-laws limiting on occupation numbers, and all due to come into force on November 30.

It’s OK, help is on the way.  Later this month (August) the strata managers’ umbrella body Strata Community Australia (SCA-NSW) in conjunction with NSW Fair Trading and Real Estate Institute of NSW will be hosting education seminars on the new strata legislation, for both strata residents and professionals.

Free evening sessions for strata owners and tenants will be held from 5pm to 7pm on the following dates:  Tweed Heads, August 23;  Coffs Harbour, August 24;  Port Macquarie,  August 25; Newcastle, August 30; Sydney, August 31;  Wollongong,  September 1.

I have just learned that the Sydney session is fully booked. Use
the email address below to ask if there are any others planned.

Sessions for strata and property managers will run from 12pm to 4.30pm  on those dates.  These sessions will cost $50 per person but six CPD Points will be awarded to industry professionals.
