Hello, my daughter is in the process of buying a 2 bedroom unit in the Sydney beachside suburb of Coogee. The unit is on the 2nd floor of a 3 floor unit complex which has 9 or so dwellings in total. The unit is said to be built in the 1960’s, there’s no pool or lift so quarterly strata fees are low. The only concern I have is the lack of documentation around past strata minutes etc, particularly around Compliance obligations such as Fire Saftey. Is there anything we should be asking the body corporate on fire safety. There’s never been a fire audit conducted to the unit block so guessing something is not quite right…Thank you, John.
