We have common laundries for all 15 residents to use.  Now the 3 washing machines have broken down and have to be replaced.  We requested our strata managers to seek the usual 3 quotes to replace, including, delivery, installation and removal of old machines.

They came back with one quote, which we approved more than 6 weeks ago.  The supplier then said that those machines were not being delivered/manufactured anymore, and so we were given an alternative.  Again, as with the original quote, we checked for alternative prices, and this time, the difference in price is $100 for each machine, and the supplier is charging a further $100 for each delivery, installation and removal.  The alternative price is from a reputable online company, with delivery, installation and removal to be included in the already cheaper price.

When we instructed the strata managers to order from the online company, she  said that they do not order online.  I asked her to put in writing and she refused.

In the meantime, some 10 residents who do not have their own washing machines, have to use one single barely operating machine.

The strata managers said that we can purchase and they would reimburse us.  But at this time of year, with a lot of expenses with Christmas coming on, and only some assurances that we would be reimbursed quickly, it becomes a cash-flow problem.

What can we do to make them order from our supplier?
