Since my multi-use highrise was completed, one of our 2 fire exits has been locked and not labelled. Residents are not given a key to it or told about it.

The fire exit we are allowed to use is surrounded by toxic combustible cladding.

Who is responsible for ensuring all residents have safe unfeterred access to all fire exits?

I have arranged my Council Municipal Surveyor to investigate. I thought the OC was to arrange survey reports each year. Did they engage a corrupt surveyor?

Was it their responsibility to know where escape routes are and ensure they are open?

What can the Council Building Surveyor do about it?
