My unit has mould infestation on furniture, some clothes following the installation of a watering system for a new garden which is on the eastern bedroom wall of my garden unit.
Strata manager says damp is covered by them but not mould. This seems grossly unfair to me as where I live (Sydney) has been in drought for many months and I have never experienced mould in any other place where I have lived.
How is it determined who is responsible for payment to remove mould?
You can demonstrate damp by taking readings with a damp meter – not expensive and obtainable from Bunnings.
Or you can just say to the strata manager, “how about I take the owners corp to NCAT to force them to fix this, and you to Fair Trading for incompetence, while I’m at it?”
